After the enormous success of our inaugural 2016 event we are looking to make 2017 bigger and much better.  The 2017 event will be held at the Wyndham San Diego Bayside Hotel with cheaper rooms, more high profile speakers and a  more expansive expo.  Bringing together the world’s top medical and scientific minds on treating and preventing serious disease through nutrition at the largest-ever low-carb conference.

For healthcare professionals, the 2016 live CME activity was reviewed and was deemed acceptable for up to 16.5 Prescribed Credits by the American Academy of Family Physicians.   The activity for the 2017 event is pending review.

Gary Taubes (born April 30, 1956) is an American science writer. He is the author of Nobel Dreams (1987), Bad Science: The Short Life and Weird Times of Cold Fusion (1993), and Good Calories, Bad Calories (2007), which is titled The Diet Delusion in the UK.

Dr. Stephen D. Phinney is a Professor of Medicine Emeritus at UC-Davis. He is on the editorial board of the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. He has twenty-five years of clinical experience as a director of multi-disciplinary weight management programs and has contributed to books and peer reviewed articles.  He is an expert in low carb nutrition and metabolism, fatty acids, inflammation, and the metabolic syndrome

Dr. Joseph Mercola has authored three NY Times bestselling books but his fourth best seller will be out in May 2017 and focuses on optimizing mitochondrial strategies with nutritional ketosis.

Dr. Thomas N. Seyfried is Professor of Biology at Boston College, and received his Ph.D. in Genetics and Biochemistry from the University of Illinois, Urbana, in 1976. He did his undergraduate work at the University of New England where he recently received the distinguished Alumni Achievement Award.

George Stella, a professional chef for over thirty years, is an official spokesman for the Junior Leagues’ Kids in the Kitchen initiative to empower youth to make healthy lifestyle choices. He is a part of the QVC Kitchen Crew for 12 years now appearing regularly with his books. George appears on numerous television and news shows, including two seasons of his own show, Low Carb and Lovin’ It on the Food Network. Dr. Georgia Ede is a Harvard-trained psychiatrist whose areas of expertise include ketogenic and pre-agricultural diets, food sensitivity syndromes, and college mental health. Jeff Volek, PhD RD Professor is a registered dietitian and professor in the Department of Human Sciences at the Ohio State University. Dr. Nicole Avena is a research psychologist and neuroscientist who is an expert in the fields of nutrition, diet and addiction. She received a Ph.D. in Psychology and Neuroscience from Princeton University in 2006, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at Rockefeller University.

Dr. Peter Ballerstedt received his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture in 1981 and Master of Science in 1983, both from the University of Georgia. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Kentucky in 1986, specializing in forage management and utilization, minoring in ruminant nutrition.

Jacqueline Eberstein began working with Dr. Robert Atkins as a staff nurse in 1974. At the time of his death in 2003 she was the Director of Medical Education at The Atkins Center for Complementary Medicine.

Dr. Jeffry N. Gerber, MD, FAAFP is a board certified family physician and owner of South Suburban Family Medicine in Littleton, Colorado, where he is known as “Denver’s Diet Doctor”.
